Manhood Is a Mindset
Fatherly Instruction from the Wisest Man Who Ever Lived
It takes a special kind of father (or father figure) to teach his son the practical wisdom he needs to build the mindset of a real man.
In my book, Manhood Is a Mindset, I point my son to the example of Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, and instruct him in the fatherly wisdom Solomon taught his son in Proverbs chapters one through nine. My book is a text-driven exposition that follows Solomon’s lead and reads as a personalized discourse—as a series of letters from a father to his son.
I wrote these letters to instruct my son in the wisdom he needs to get off the couch, walk out the front door like a man, and earn a good life for himself. I published these letters to support all those other fathers who are working just as hard to mold their inexperienced boys into capable men who are likewise ready go out into the world and meet their responsibilities to God, their families, their neighbors, and themselves.

“I highly recommend Manhood Is a Mindset. It is a book that I wish I could have read when I was a teenage boy and when I was raising my own son. J. Colin Trisler has written a book that will hook young readers with pop culture references while it teaches and inspires them from God’s wisdom in Proverbs. I will heartily share it with the boys that I work with.”
